Letter Tag

To participate in this tag, one must simply leave a comment asking for a letter of the alphabet. I shall then assign each commenter a letter. After receiving their letter, they shall list ten things that they love beginning with their letter and post it on their blog.

My letter, given to me by the fantastic Director, is J. My list is as follows.

• Judges- my favorite book in the Bible. Not sure why. It's sort of gruesome.
• Jumping on trampolines- Except they have to be clean and they must have a net.

• Joan Aiken books- simply charming, in a strange sort of way

•  Jokes- but not the groaners like my dad tells. I mean actual funny ones.
• Jam- homemade raspberry jam. Not blueberry.
• Jeremy Camp- great music, people!
• Jolly Joe's- the song from Veggie Tales. You know, this one:

I read this and automatically thought of the Thompson twins in the Tintin comics... Okay so it wasn't a sign, but I was told to watch out and my brain didn't process it in time. There was also that time when we were eating spaghetti and my grandpa told us that the noodles would slide off the plate if we weren't careful and right after he said that my noodles slid right off the plate.

Waaaay too much! I didn't mind too much until I learned that there are life-sized cardboard characters being sold. That's going too far.

Which reminds me of the time when I was walking home from school and inside one of the classrooms was a life-sized cardboard Luke Skywalker. That is at least understandable as Luke is awesome! But I digress...

That's what I love about theater people. They actually understand that. Like in 5th grade when all the girls in my class became unreasonable and disrespectful, all the boys asked me to join their group!

That bugs me crazy!!! It also bugs me when people mix up "then" and "than". I really don't understand that one, but maybe if you speak with an accent or something you hear them differently. I'm not really sure. And the same with "there" "their" and "they're". Basically I'm just a stickler when it comes to grammar. I really dislike "text talk" as well. I don't understand it at all!

I'm rather ashamed to admit... This happens to me a bunch, though not as often as it used to.

Yes. Class discussions. I've pretty much given up. I raise my hand to speak a lot, but for some reason people don't see my hand. In speech class this was a major problem and we all decided that I should wear a flashing light on my head that turns on whenever I wish to speak. I'm still considering that. But still... You can't expect me to remember what I was going to say for 10, 15, 20 minutes, can you? They've usually changed topics completely anyway.

You know, I think that people who try to be "cool" aren't cool at all. You're "cool" if you do things that people consider "cool" but you're actually fun to be around if you do what you yourself thinks is cool because your individual thoughts are what make you unique. I didn't word that very well, but I got the point across. I think...

I had to keep this one in because I don't love it, but I don't hate it. You see, when you live in the northwest, it's pretty hard to love the rain. however, I know that without the rain it wouldn't be so pretty and green. So while I certainly don't love it, I can't really hate it either.

All the time at school. I'll be walking down the hall and I'll hear someone say something about Star Wars or something I enjoy and sometimes I will stop and try to hear what they're saying about it.

This goes hand in hand with insanity.

Absolutely! Well, maybe not strangle per se, but I would definitely give them a nice, long lecture!

This doesn't happen to me very often, but I'm pretty sure I have.

Yep... but I've come up with a solution. If I'm not sure whether I need to push or pull and it's a door with a handle or knob, I'll quickly pull it and if it doesn't go then I push, all in one fluid motion so that it's hard for others to tell that I got it wrong. But if I get it right on the first try, then I have to be careful or else I go flying forward!

I'm not homeschooled, but I definitely support it.

His lyrics are so meaningful, they really make one think. I hope that counts as an impact.

Once (earlier this month, in fact). It was epic! Especially Light Up the Sky!

Umm... I can't decide between I Will Follow and I Will Rise. They're both really cool and for different reasons. I Will Follow is just downright catchy, but I Will Rise is just downright beautiful. I think I'll go with the latter for now. But I also really like Our God is Greater. (Oh, why did I have to put Chris Tomlin for #7?)


Is there any song of 3 that makes you sad? 

Umm... Not really, except Just Like You is pretty heavy, but I wouldn't say it's sad...


What is your favorite song by 9?

This Man! That's a no brainer (but only because of the story behind it... *glares at The Director*


How did you first get into 2? 

The Director, of course! I don't remember how exactly. Ah, yes! I had heard of him before, but it wasn't until this last summer when I heard the score for Treasure Planet that I really started listening to Howard's work. He's brilliant and I have learned so much just from listening.


How did you first get into 3?

It's all The Director's fault again! 


What is your favorite song by 4? 

*Scrolls back up for the zillionth time to see what 4 is* Ah. Light Up the Sky, of course!



How many times have you seen 9 live? 

None... But how I would love to!


What is a good memory concerning 10? 

(Oh great.) Umm... Well... It's a long story, but it has to do with Speech class and the school library... *headdesk* (Why number 10, why?)


Is there a song by 8 that makes you sad? 

Let's see... Nope, not really.


What is your fave song of 1's? 

That's one of the toughest questions I've ever been asked. Can I just throw a few out there? Christ is Risen is one of my favorites to listen to before bed, but I have a sweet association with Hold Us Together, but No Greater Love is just so catchy... But so is Your Grace is Enough, and As It Is In Heaven has a cool piano part. Did that answer the question? (And if you haven't heard any of these songs, go do that!)


How did you become a fan of 10?

Well, I knew about them and thought they were catchy and all, but I really became what one would describe as a "fan" during or after the happening in Speech class.

5 things I want to accomplish this year:

1. Get in trouble at school for glorifying God!!!!!
2. Publish a piece of music!
3. Memorize all of Psalm 119
4. Save up $500
5. Read the entire Bible cover to cover

5 things I've always wanted to do but have never done:

1. Play an oboe (or at least try)
2. Sleep outside with only a sleeping bag
3. Travel out of the country
4. Meet a film score composer
5. Direct an orchestra

5 Things I see as important in life:

1. God!
2. Spending time outside

4. Food
5. Friends/family- They're basically the same thing around here!

5 Mishaps (Embarrassing moments that I can laugh at):
Oh gosh. This type of thing happens so much to me I really don't know what to say.

1.  The time I stumbled and slid down a flight of stairs at Bible study
2. Last Sunday when I collapsed on the floor in a pile of laughter and sheer awkwardness. Don't ask.
3. 4th or 5th grade, when I forgot to bow at a choir concert.
4. About a month ago when I cowered in a corner while my English class listened to a recording of me singing. It was for extra credit and everyone (I think) liked it, but still.
5. Does the fact that I don't know of the latest songs, bands, TV shows, text abbreviations or such count? People actually laugh at me for being so clueless.
