Reminder of the Day

My mom said, "Uh Oh! George is remembering that when you have a dog, it doesn't matter what the weather is like!"

May that be a reminder to all of us.

By the way, in case you failed to notice, I have added a wall of quotes.
Careful what you say... Yours could be next!

Presents

Alright Abby.

You know something? Charlotte and I were talking about something on Sunday night. And we didn't tell you.

Well here it is:

My parents gave me a very nice present...

Of a drivers manual.

Laugh all you want.

Speech Debate Tournament Part 1

Just had to tell you, even though this is waaaaay off topic... My mom is downstairs and I heard her say "Oh hi, Tiger. I thought you were in Audrey's room."

Pause.

"Oh, that's right. We saw your picture on her computer."

So anyway... On Saturday I attended the speech and debate tournament that was held at Tualatin High. It was dreadfully confusing. When I got there I didn't know where to sign in. I wandered around aimlessly until I met up with my debate partner and a couple of friends. We eventually learned that it was in the library and got that taken care of and were given our event id. Then we waited for our event lists to be posted. The lists told us where to go for our event. However, we were supposed to do our event at 9:00 and the lists weren't even posted until 9:15! The audacity! So I went to my assigned room. It was a custodial closet. Then we all waited for our judge to arrive. The door was locked and she didn't have a key. So she went to get a key, which ended up not working anyway (since it was a custodial closet) so we went into the hall. By now we're running very late. So we do our poetry reading, which I forgot to mention was my individual event. This one guy did poems on Beethoven. He wrote a few of his own and used one that Beethoven had written. He used a ton of emotion and used rhythm and dynamics incredibly. Then there was the girl with the same theme as me and 2 of the same poems. Later she told me that she'd almost changed her one poem that was different from mine to the one I had. We're so very glad that she didn't! Then I had to run off to debate. However, I didn't know where to go and it had already started since we were so late. I checked the list and there were 3 Tualatins listed and I didn't know which one was mine, so I went to ask Mr. Fisher who runs the program at our school. He told me to look for my id and walked off. But I didn't know that there was a different id assigned to debate teams. After I learned that I knew that I needed to go to room 47, but I didn't even know where that was. I went to the table my friends and I had claimed to get my stuff and ask my friend sitting there if he knew where the room was. He had rested his arm on a folded piece of paper that I would later learn told me where to go and when. So much for that. I found the room and debated. Then I ate lunch. Quickly because I had to go to my next event but fortunately they were very late posting the lists. The rest of the day went rather well actually. I left early because there was no point in staying longer.

I'm sorry if this is overwhelming. Just be glad I'm telling all of this in 2 parts (or more).

It's Time

That's it!

I'm officially going to begin posting my beloved photos both for storage and for your enjoyment, though mostly for the first reason. It's been gnawing at me.

I'll just do a few at a time, so as not to overwhelm you with beauty. So to kick it off:

You all know where this is, I hope!

Where have I been?

Wow.

I. Am. So. Tired.

I think I learned too much.

My brain hurts.

I didn't know speech and debate tournaments required so much time.

I didn't know they required so much energy.

I didn't know they were so confusing.

I also didn't know that my individual event id is different from my debate one.

I didn't know that for poetry I needed one of those weird little binders, not a regular-sized one.

I didn't know that students who have debated for 2 years already could be in the novice division.

I do know that I'll be doing this again.

More details to come!

A Picture of a Cat and a Crazy Pirate

Did he pose for this picture?

Quite honestly, I'm not sure.

The Funniest Pictures I've ever Taken: Part 1

Mulan?

 Frisky's claws are quite sharp.

This is what happens when Skokie and Adak are left to fend for themselves.

This squirrel is 100% real.

This here is a rather extravagant beaded bolero. My mom wasn't too happy to find Tiger sleeping on it.

I don't even know what to say about this ferret...

Does Your Emergen-C Ever Look Like This?

Don't worry, I won't always tell you guys about my day. Only when it's really worth telling.

Like today. Veterans Day.

Did you know that at this exact moment in time we are shrouded in mystical mist?

Yeah. Me neither.

But anyway...

The actual day part of my day wasn't all that interesting. That's why my dad had the brilliant idea to go walk around at Bridgeport Village. While we were walking around, there were people setting up a Christmas tree and other Christmas-y things. At least there wasn't Christmas music playing...

And that was my venture out of the house today. It was cold enough for me.

I was ready to sleep by 9:00 so I went to put on my kitty pjs, brush my hair and teeth, all that good stuff.

That's when I discovered the dreadful knot in my hair. I'm sure it wasn't really that awful, it's just that I don't normally get knots like this. It was a small tight one.

So I got that taken care of and started experimenting with hairdos. Observe:

I know you know I'm crazy, but still I can't believe I'm willingly sharing these photos with y'all.

And now I present to you...

Hairdos I actually see at school:

Yes, I know girls who do braid their hair like this. What is wrong with it?
1. One side contains more hair than the other.
2. The thin side has been started waaaay too high.
3. It doesn't look too attractive in general.

Ahh, the single braid. I don't see how someone can manage to put all of their hair on one side of their head. Maybe it works better on thinner hair.

And this? Let's just say it was rather painful.

And our finale for Hairdos I See At School:

Is it just me, or does this remind you of Mulan?

And girls actually wear their hair (I didn't mean for that all to rhyme) like that! Not kidding!

Of course, maybe it works better on shorter hair.

So anyway, I was going to brush my teeth but realized that I was hungry. I went downstairs and opened the new container of hummus. I ate it with crackers.

I found that I was thirsty as well so I went to get myself some Emergen-C.

It wouldn't open the conventional way, so I used scissors. When I finally got it opened I found that it looked a little something like this. Thus the title of this post.

It makes me wonder how water managed to get in there.

And I continued to wonder, what does a clump of that taste like alone?

And so I found the answer to that question: Very, very tart. Very nice.

And then I lost the game.

I put away the crackers and hummus and went upstairs. I was going to brush my teeth when I heard an odd sound. It didn't quite sound like our refrigerator, and it wasn't a catfight.

Then I heard the unmistakable "pffffffffffhhhhhhh..."

Kitty snore. I shot a hairband at him to make him stop.

Then I began writing this post and listening to music. I heard that drum that had been bugging me because I love it and didn't know what it was called. It's a bass drum.

Then a cat entered the room and I didn't try to stop him.

He accompanied me into the bathroom where I finally brushed my teeth.

I wish I could get a picture of the two of us. He's settled down in front of the computer with me. His ear is bloody. His other one, not the one with the chunk already missing. I know he's settled because he's already given himself the whole cleaning.

I hope Tiger doesn't mind...

I actually got a picture of us. I'll load it later. But for now...

Lowering Expectations

That's it!

In fact, I've considered giving up on more than one occasion.

I'm officially lowering my word count goal to 20,000.

That seems reasonable, right?
